TEEI is a unique collaborative program designed to help transgender individuals find stable jobs that provide a living wage, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
TEEI partners include:
- The Center (San Francisco LGBT Community Center)
- SF TEAM (San Francisco Transgender Empowerment, Advocacy, and Mentorship)
- JVS (Jewish Vocational Service)
- TLC (Transgender Law Center)
Each agency brings its own unique strengths to the collaborative:
The Center provides mentoring services linking job seekers and newly-placed employees with community members who have successfully navigated the sometimes tricky waters of growing in their position and career.
SF TEAM is an all-volunteer project, sponsored by The Center. SF TEAM was created to bring disparate parts of the transgender community together to engage in community empowerment and mentoring.
TLC is using its extensive legal expertise to help community members understand their rights and navigate technical details, and to provide trainings and consultation to help employers make sure their workplaces are safe and welcoming.
JVS is using its 35+ years of experience in workforce development to provide job search workshops and one-on-one job search support, and to connect jobseekers to its network of employers looking for smart, skilled workers.
