One-on-One Job Search Support. TEEI employment counselors support community members through every aspect of the job searching process, from setting a goal and targeting employers, to building outstanding resumes and cover letters, to practicing successful interview techniques. They also help job seekers develop their networks, and they facilitate connections between job seekers and employers. Once someone gets a job, TEEI counselors can provide follow-up support to help the new employee settle into the workplace.
Job Search Workshops. TEEI workshops cover all the basic job search skills, address specific concerns that may come up for transgender and gender-nonconforming job seekers, and provide opportunities for job seekers to network and support each other.
Job Fairs: The Center’s Job Fairs provide a safe and personal way for job seekers to connect with transgender-friendly companies and organizations. Employers are pre-screened and undergo trans sensitivity training. TEEI provides workshops and individual support to help job seekers prepare for the Job Fairs and coaching and tips regarding how to follow up with employers.
